Rahaf Harfoush
Rahaf Harfoush is a digital anthropologist and New York Times bestselling author. She is the Executive Director of the Red Thread Institute of Digital Culture, a think tank and special projects agency working at the intersection of technology, culture and leadership. She helps leaders identify the possibilities, opportunities, markets and contexts to deepen their perspective on the digital culture’s potential.
Rahaf is a member of France’s National Digital Council and was recently named to the United Nations High-Level Advisory on Artificial Intelligence. She is a Visiting Policy Fellow at the Oxford Internet Institute.
Formerly, Rahaf was the Associate Director of the Technology Pioneer Program at the World Economic Forum, a senior consultant to UNESCO on AI and gender inequality, and a member of U.S. President Barack Obama’s digital media team during the 2008 presidential campaign. Her first book chronicled her experience working on the campaign. Rahaf has been recognized as a Rising Talent by the Women’s Forum on Society and the Economy and a Young Global Changer by the G20 Think Tank Summit.
Rahaf has been speaking about digital culture and technology since 2006. Her writing has been featured in HBR, Wired, The Globe and Mail, Fast Company, Monocle, The Financial Times, Techonomy and The Next Web. Her work has also been featured on Forbes, Fortune, CNN and TED.
